Another exceptional holiday venue through Eden Nights which is back by popular demand. The hotel and the resort is a wonderful base for an early summer break and with walks, excursions, good food, and of course the now renowned music for dancing in the evening. Another firm favorite for ‘holiday4dancers’. |

The 4-star Hotel Vila Gale Tavira has been skilfully designed to blend unobtrusively into its historic surrounds, successfully combining elements of local traditional architecture with modern facilities. Unusually for a town hotel it offers a full array of resort facilities, including both an indoor and outdoor pool, and is linked to a nearby beach by a shuttle boat service. It also owns and operates a catamaran that offers an enjoyable mini-cruise exploring Tavira’s river and coastline. The charming historic centre of the town lies but a gentle 5-minute stroll from the hotel. Alongside the quay where local fishermen land their catch stands a row of tempting fish restaurants. Just beyond, the former fish market, now refurbished, offers an atmospheric choice of cafés and shops. Traditional old-fashioned family businesses line the narrow streets and both colourful old folk and young families can be observed and enjoyed in the pretty little riverside park. For an overview, scale the central hill to the walls of the castle ruins. |

The hotel was excellent, set in an attractive location and on the whole the catering was very good. The dancing in the evening was very enjoyable and catered for every standard of dancer from learners to medallists. … We also found the excursions very worthwhile. The towns were interesting and the time allocated for being there was just right, and Jonathan's input (holiday rep) was invaluable." "Santiago Trial 2007 - Jill's letter, posted on the internet, said it all. Many congratulations on hosting a wonderful dance holiday. Roy and I had a super time." "Santiago Trial 2007 - An excellent holiday, great excursions. Jonathan was a great courier and we enjoyed the dancing too! … The visit to Santiago De Compostela was amazing and a very memorable experience, and the "wall to wall" sunshine for the week made the holiday unforgettable. Thanks for everything." "Santiago Trial 2007 - We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at The Hotel Ofir, our first with Eden Nights, but certainly not the last! The dancing at night was excellent and the daytime excursion programme was most enjoyable….. Thanks for a super holiday." "Santiago Trial 2007 - Although we were two ladies without partners, we were both made welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, and both agreed the hotel was first rate. … We both felt we would like to go again. Many thanks to you for a lovely holiday." |

Excursion PossibilitiesTemplars & Town Planning: Scale the Castro Marim citadel and former HQ of the Portuguese Knights Templar prior to heading east to the Spanish frontier to enjoy time at leisure in the architecturally harmonious and tranquil riverside town of Vila Real de Sao Antonio, constructed from scratch in the 18th century by the renowned Portuguese polymath the Marquis of Pombal. Discover The East: A fascinating day out taking in the picture-postcard country village and handicrafts centre of Querenca, the Roman ruins of Milreau, the São Bras mansion of a cork baron, now home to a museum, and the formal baroque gardens of the palace of the Counts of Carvalhal, in Estoi. The Algarve’s Beautiful Estuary: One of the most ecologically important wetland areas in Europe, the Ria Formosa (beautiful estuary in English) contains a wealth of endangered animal and plant species and a fascinating aquarium, which we shall visit in addition to exploring the estuary both on foot and by coach. Charming Faro: One of the relatively undiscovered delights of the Algarve is the old town and marina area of Faro, containing sections of the ancient city walls, a photogenic medieval gateway, a delightfully tranquil cathedral square, a variety of enticing shops and a choice of delightful marina-side cafeterias in which to sample Portugal’s fine patisserie. |
