"Everything We Hoped For, And More"

As soon as we saw what was on offer in the Holidays For Dancers brochure we booked our place to Ofir in North Portugal. Here was a combination not to be missed, interesting and varied tours, some with spectacular elements, an hotel with great facilities and of course dancing on a wooden floor to the music of Paul and Carole Eden. Not relying on local audio equipment they had shipped out their own system to ensure the sound quality was never compromised.

Attention to detail and a commitment to everyone's needs became one of the hallmarks of this holiday as Resort Manager Jonathon worked tirelessly to respond to our requests and looked for opportunities to improve our holiday. An example of this presented itself on the first day when decisions had to made, should we chill out in the hotel or on the long deserted sandy beach or take advantage of an unexpected trip to a local wine supplier? By all accounts this was great fun but whatever option was taken everyone commented on the good food in the hotel now enhanced by an understanding of local Portuguese wine.

The particular trips were a significant factor for us choosing this holiday and we were not disappointed. Jonathon enhanced this experience by sharing with us his enthusiasm and depth of knowledge of local culture, history, architecture and the portuguese language. The highlight for us was the trip to Santiago de Compostella when the singing during mass in the cathedral reduced us to tears, very special.

The holiday as a whole provided a balance of cultural, spiritual, culinary and visual experiences but of course included those vital opportunities for retail therapy, laughter and of course dancing with new found friends.

And what about those unexpected elements! Ten Pin Bowling, Black Cockerels, sunsets, sunshine and "miracles".

In conclusion this was a holiday that fulfilled all our hopes and expectations and more. The resort of Ofir was a peaceful and beautiful resort and we have had a good time, the holiday was great value for money and had that very personal touch.
