THE DURRANT HOUSE HOTEL is, without doubt, the best hotel in our current offering. The rooms, ballroom, food and service, have been praised by all our guests as exemplary, and Carole and I can recommend this hotel without reservation.

FOOD & RESTAURANT: The restaurant, with etched glass and mahogany panels, is extremely comfortable, and has a warm and homely ambience. The food and service, and attention to every detail, was noted by our clients to be of a very high standard and therefore represented wonderful value for money. ROOMS & PUBLIC AREAS: The rooms, all recently refurbished, are of contemporary decor, with a good standard of furnishings and the bathrooms have marble walls and glass sinks making them luxurious in appearance. Dancers, the hotel offers standard rooms as described above, premium rooms with more space and sofas, and 8 Jacuzzi(for two) rooms of varying sizes (not necessarily as large as some of the other premium rooms) and you should ring our office if you want to treat yourself to an upgrade. The public areas have a colonial feel with dark wood, etched glass and marble floors and the ballroom is stunning with a brand new dedicated dance floor.
 TOURIST INFORMATION: The area around Bideford has some fascinating places to visit places such as Appledore, Instow and Clovelly have there own charm, whilst at Great Torrington, the Dartington Glass Factory has a visitors attraction and Factory shop. Click Here

Bideford is an attractive town on the banks of the Torridge estuary. Following the building of a new bridge in the late 1980s it is not so busy with the traffic heading into North Cornwall able to bypass the town on the A39.
