New to Holidays for Dancers these breaks are for all standards of dancers who want to learn technique, floorcraft, choreography from world class lectures and masterclasses. Carole and I have selected the very best from the world of dancing and each has been chosen for their unique presentation to ensure you retain as much of the information as possible.

Learn and Improve weekends are part of a long term programme of holidays specifically designed to gradually develop your skills in each genre. Dancers will have the option to book into the next weekend where your learning this time will be continued in progressive planned development, or you can join us for individual weekends that suit you.

All the lectures & masterclasses are tailored to each group's ability.

We have chosen a central venue for these breaks to minimise journey time for all our clients around the country. Somerset Hall in the centre of town (with excellent adjacent parking) is a fine first floor venue where Carole and I host 30 dances a year. The floor is exceptional and can be set up and divided to allow two groups to enjoy masterclasses.

There is no 'traditional' hotel in Portishead so we are using a Premier Inn which is 10 mins walk from the venue or 2 mins in the car. We accept this is not ideal, but dancers, it is becoming ever more difficult to find good hotels with sizeable ballrooms. By 2010 we are hopeful our new portable floor will resolve these issues.

Freedom Breaks Itinerary

Arriving on Friday afternoon/evening - book into Premier Inn from 2pm - Dancing from 8-11pm
Saturday - 2 x 11/4 hr lectures, in the morning and afternoon. Formal Ball in the evening from 8-11.30pm
Sunday (Option To Stay - £30pp) - Book out of Premier Inn by noon. 2 x 11/4 hr lectures, in the morning & afternoon. - Travel Home

Each group of dancers will be assessed as to their current overall skill and the 4 sessions will be tailored to build on their existing knowledge and ability.
