Set on the esplanade in Weymouth the 3 star Regent hotel has been the scene of many dance holidays with dancing in the evening in the Fabulous Regency Ballroom. FOOD & RESTAURANT: The food at the Regent has always been noted as 'good' by our dancers and 'very good' by some. The menu is enhanced by additional choices at extra cost, and Carole and I often have the steak which is sensational. The restaurant is very comfortable with plenty of space and Mike, the restaurant & banqueting manger, is the most helpful maitre d of all our hotels. Breakfast is self service with all your evening meals served to your table. |
ROOMS & PUBLIC AREAS: The rooms at the Regent are very comfortable with en-suite facilities. Typical 3 star chintzy in decoration with comfortable beds and although there is a slow programme of upgrading (plasma TVs etc) currently in progress, there is already a high degree of satisfaction of the rooms by our dancers. We do have a small allocation of sea view rooms and these are allocated in order of booking. The layout of the hotel means unless you want to sit in the public rooms, you do not pass though them but they are appropriately 3 star. The ballroom is a beautiful original Regency Ballroom, always warm, has a dedicated floor with surrounding carpeted tables and chairs, and is highly praised by our dancers for their care of the floor. PREVIOUS HOLIDAYS: The Regent has our dancers returning year after year because it is 'easy' and delightful and its name depicts its ambience. The staff are helpful, the food good and with the ongoing improvements to the hotel we have made a long term commitment for our holidays. Dancers should note there is limited parking and attention should be given to ensuring your space by early arrival. |
